Copyright & Content Policy

Last updated: August 2, 2026

Grublist helps your household save, plan, and cook recipes — including recipes you find on websites and social media. Many of those recipes are the work of creators who put real care into them. We respect that work, and this policy explains how we handle it. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

Recipes you import

When you import a recipe into Grublist, we save it to your household’s private cookbook for your personal use — like clipping a recipe into a notebook. Imported recipes are visible only to you and the household members you share them with; they are not published to other Grublist users or to the public.

We do not take credit for other people’s recipes or photos. When you import a recipe, we keep a record of where it came from and display that source with the recipe, so the original creator stays credited and easy to find.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the content you add to Grublist. Only add content you have the right to use, keep source credit intact, and do not use Grublist to redistribute someone else’s work or to present it as your own. If Grublist offers ways to share content beyond your household, only share recipes that you created or that you have permission to share.

Reporting a copyright concern

If you believe content in Grublist infringes your copyright, tell us and we will act to review it and, where appropriate, remove it or disable access to it. Email [email protected] with “COPYRIGHT” in the subject line and include:

  • A link (or links) to your original work.
  • Where the material appears in Grublist — a link or screenshot helps us find it fast.
  • A short explanation of why you believe the use infringes your rights.
  • Your full name, mailing address, phone number, and email address. Writing from an address associated with your website or publication helps us verify the request.
  • A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized, that your notice is accurate, and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act for them.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

If your content was removed

If we removed something you added and you believe we made a mistake — for example, the recipe is your own work or you have permission to use it — email us at the address above and explain. We will review and, where appropriate, restore the content.

Repeat infringement

We may suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly infringe the intellectual-property rights of others.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above.
